Camilo Castaldi arrived to live in Chile in 1990 from Germany , already influenced by the surging hip-hop scene that was consolidated in Europe. Within a few years he becomes part of Los Tetas , obtaining a gold album for the sales of their debut album Mama Funk (EMI 1995). The band also earns the APES award in the category of revelation of the year. Songs like Corazón de Sandia , La risa del Diablo , and Hormigas Planas become popular hits achieving a high rotation on Chilen radio stations as well as Latin American MTV.
Soon afterwards Los Tetas separate,marking the beginning of Tea Time’s solo career. In the United States he participates at various shows alongside artists such as: Tego Calderon, Julio Voltio, Pitbull, Ivy Queen, Wisin and Yandel as well as shows in Chile with:Afu-Ra, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Cypress Hill, Lenny Kravitz, M.Manson, Control Machete, Los Pericos, Los Fabulosos Cadillacs Los Divididos, amongst others...
Tea Time , Rulo , Tata y Panty , son los miembros del cuarteto de funk más influyente de Latinoamérica y están listos para su contraataque musical. Los ex Tetas , que desde el 2004 son bautizados como FunkAttack , finalmente presentan su álbum debut El Ritmo .
La nueva creación representa parte de la historia de la banda, la que ha constituido un largo e interesante camino, con una extensa trayectoria que hoy en día rinde frutos, los que se ven materializados en un trabajo que promete ser la conjunción perfecta entre funk , soul y hip hop . Junto con ello, la banda toma distancia de sus trabajos anteriores, experimentando esta vez con elementos electrónicos que denotan la evidente evolución de la misma.
Its first record was a co-production with Barret Jones, who also worked on projects with Nirvana and The Foo Fighters. Its second record was a co-production with Scott Ralston, who has worked for bands such as 311, No Doubt and Kiss.
The band has toured in several countries: Mexico, Guatemala, El Salvador, Costa Rica, Panama, Colombia, Venezuela, Peru, Ecuador, the United States and Puerto Rico, with two big tours: “Tu lechita y a dormir” (2000-2002) and “Pisa con Cuidado” (2002-2004), and with “Cheleros somos y de gira andamos” (2004).
Its songs and videos are transmitted via radio and television (Mtv Latin America, TeleHit, Htv, AXN, Puma TV, Much Music, Otro Rollo, etc.) in Mexico, Spain, United States and Central and South America.
Genitallica has been on stage with other bands, such as KISS, Blur, Cafe Tacuba, Control Machete, Resorte, Molotov, Inspector, El Gran Silencio, Illia Kuryaki and the Valderramas, A.N.I.M.A.L. and, in its recent visit to Mexico, with Kiss. Additionally, Genitallica have taken part in numerous radio festivals all over America.
Flip Tamez , originario de Monterrey Nuevo Leon, donde por más de 15 años forma parte importante de la escena musical , forma Jumbo a finales del ’97, y en estos trece años han editado 5 discos (Restaurant, D.D. y ponle play,Teleparque, Gran Panoramico y Superficie) , además de otras participaciones en discos tributo y sound tracks- incursiona en el filmscoring de la pelicula Entre Canibales (El Desconocido) con Bonanza, proyecto instrumental al lado de Castillo y Charly de Jumbo, …. Nos enseña su amor por el blues y el rock and roll de raíz en los Jukeboxers, junto a Andrés Cantisani , Charly Y Bugs González………. En el 2009 anucia la salida de su primer material en solitario: Adios Domingo Gris, mientras se lleva a cabo la preproducción del 6º material de Jumbo.
Despues de varios años de desarollo musical comienza la produccion de su primer disco titulado ULTIMO MODELO. Grabado cerca de Austin Tx y Monterrey, el sonido se define como una mezcla de Blues y Soul, con 10 composiciones de Cantisani. Producido por CANTISANI-BRAVO y con TOY HERNANDEZ como co-productor.
Colabora en la co-autoria del tema DE PERROS AMORES para la pelicula AMORES PERROS al lado de ELY GUERRA y CONTROL MACHETE. Es autor tambien del tema PEREGRINO de la pelicula SANTOS PEREGRINOS.
Actualmente está presentando su nueva produccion AL NORTE DE LA FRONTERA realizada al lado de CLEMENTE CASTILLO (Jumbo). En este disco la mezcla de sonidos va desde el ya bien arraigado Blues hasta el Bossa pasando por lo que ahora define mas el sonido de Cantisani, el REGIONAL BLUES.Una mezcla de Country Blues con sazón Norteño.
The music of Aldo Garcia is infused with the spirit, vitality and passion of life in Mexico. En septiembre pasado viajaron a Buenos Aires, Argentina para la grabación de un programa de televisión producido por FOX ENTERTAINMENT y patrocinado por Motorola que se denominó MOTOROKR BAND LATINOAMÉRICA y que fue transmitido a todo el continente en noviembre y diciembre del año pasado. La banda desempeñó un gran papel en este concurso obteniendo el primer lugar entre más de 2,000 grupos seleccionados en todo Latinoamérica.
El Tule (el TOO-lay) has been honing its unique Latin/World sound combining influences of Cumbia, Merengue, Salsa, Cuban and Reggae, among others. The music is influenced by art, history and culture often focusing on legends and tales of the mystical. Fan favorites include El Chupacabra, an eerie tale of the legendary goat sucker, La Ruta Maya, a pounding tribute to the famed Mayan Route and Media Noche, an ode to the dream like hours between night and daybreak. The ever evolving sound is a natural progression brought forth by different backgrounds, experiences and influences. While adhering to the bands original goal, the sound has taken its own course.
